TAGCOM 6 Event Report (Yes, We Had a Display There!)

When we have anime figure displays, we’re usually given at least a month to prepare for the event. Why a month? Well, consider that not only do we have to invite lenders and record their figures to be displayed in the event, but we also have to layout the name tags for the figures and have further discussions with the organizers with regards to the floor space we have to work with. I think this is why our latest stint at TAGCOM 6 at Robinson’s Place Manila last March 31 to April 1 has got to be one of our most impressive showings yet. It may not have been as grandiose as our previous displays but given the extremely rushed preparation time we had, we’re quite proud of the showcase we had. Continue reading

Team Onii-chan! at The Best of Anime 2011 Day 1

Day 1 of The Best of Anime 2011 has just closed its chapter and along with it, Team Onii-chan’s display event for the said event. While the crowd was not at par with that of Otaku Expo 2011’s or the display area as well-protected, the convention was still enjoyable and full of energy as the team continues to build its reputation for being the most active and fan-friendly anime toy collecting community in the country today. As always, here’s some shots that I’ve taken from both the event and our totally awesome display. Continue reading

Robotics;Notes Follows Steins;Gate, Mad Scientists Nowhere to be Found

Following the footsteps of highly popular “scientific adventure games,” “Chaos;HEAd” and “Steins;Gate,” Nitroplus and 5pb. are teaming up once again to deliver another highly anticipated release entitled, “Robotics;Notes.” Details are still quite scarce but based on the preview video, augmented reality may play a part in the plot. The game will be available for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles next spring 2012. While “Robotics;Notes” looks to be promising for now, one can only hope if the game will feature a cast of characters equally demented and outrageous as the wildly popular “Steins;Gate.”

Slender Body of Christina is An Instant Get for Me

So after Wave’s Beach Queens version of Mayushii. Makise Kurisu (My Christina) finally wore her swim suit for us to realize that Slender Body is SEXY… :)

What can I say? She so cute with that shy look… and definitely her signature neck tie just sealed the deal. She also comes with a pink and white “donut,” also known as lifesaver… suit for her aware/alert personality… :)

The base is awesome, notice the hair and you will notice that the color quality is topnotch.Oh wait!.. Kurisu-chan still has a sexy back… hehehehe :)

Really love this fig, and will surely preorder one. Before GSC will release her scaled fig, might as well get her BQ version.

You can have the best “assistant” for a good price of 3800Yen and with a release date of late March next year… :)

Money will Time Travel to 5pb/Nitroplus’ Official Steins;Gate Divergence Meter Replica

Final episode of Steins;Gate will air this week, and all fans of the anime are excited to watch the thrilling, nerve wracking ending. So 5pb/Nitroplus is offering S;G fans to purchase their limited edition replicas of divergence meter.

So, what is this Divergence Meter is all about? It keeps track of the magnitude of differences between time lines . If you want more details about it, listen to/watch Suzu-chan on Episode 15 as she explains Okarin the functions and also the effects of the changes in the numbers of the meter.

Two versions of divergence meter are being sold.

Alpha world line (I believe the numbers are in default 0.00000) = 62,800 yen

Beta world line = 59,800yen

The fun/cool part is you can also use the replicas as  clock, alarm clock, calendar and sound recorder. Also includes different sound effects. It produces sound every time the numbers change.

A software is included to be able to make some changes on the divergence meter by just connect it to computer via USB port.

A very interesting item with a price that is not interesting enough. But if you’re one of die hard fans of S;G, Okarin or Suzuha Amane, I guess this replica is just good fit for your room… :)

Kotobukiya 1/8 Makise Kurisu Resale!

Kotobukiya 1/8 Makise Kurisu
Price: Y7800
Release date: late-Junary 2012

Even without the anime to use as a popularity platform, Kotobukiya dared to release Steins;Gate tsundere heroine Makise Kurisu’s 1/8 scaled figure last September 2010.

Obviously, the figure didn’t sell well despite the fact that the game is quite popular in Japan. Now that the Steins;Gate anime is making a name for itself as one of the best anime titles this year (even with the irksome start), Kotobukiya took the opportunity for a comeback and decided to have a re-release of the figure, due late January 2012.

To those of you who missed the first release, here’s your most awaited chance to grab the very first Steins;Gate scale figure.
