“Rurouni Kenshin” has seen a revival in Japan soon and while there have been both good and bad things that have come out from it, the attention it has gotten recently is a welcome sight especially for those who grew up following the series. Bandai is paying tribute to this great series by announcing the “Rurouni Kenshin” FiguArts ZERO line of figures and the first entry is none other than the titular character himself, Himura Kenshin. Hobby Japan December 2011 Scans (OH GOD, YES SHISHIO!!!)
Another Hobby Japan issue, another round of figures to salivate upon. Scans for the December issue of Japan’s foremost hobby collectors’ magazine don’t quite reach epic levels, but compared to last month’s downright boring announcements, these ones are much more excitable. Continue reading

With the new “Rurouni Kenshin” anime project, Shin Kyoto-hen OVA, nearing closer to its release, its creators are holding a name-the-episode contest where fans are asked to submit possible titles for the first episode of the aforementioned two-part retelling of the infamous Shishio escapade from Misao’s point of view. Onii-chan’s Diary: Otaku Expo 2011 Day 2
The second day of Otaku Expo 2011 was, in many ways, much like day 1, only much more vibrant and injected with an insane amount of hyper-charged craziness and fun. The first day was great enough, but day 2 was definitely a blast. Some of our dedicated and unmatched crew brought more figures to show off, which made the display even better. If there was one thing that stood out, it was the fact that guarding the display was even more fun than it was tiring. Sure, staying in one place and keeping a laser-eyed focus on the display might drain the body, but with such a great group, you wouldn’t even feel it. Anyways, as with the previous post here’s some more pics I took of the display. Some of our members got their own pics (which are obviously much better than mine) which you’ll be able to view soon at our Facebook fan page so look forward to that. Pics are after the break. New Rurouni Kenshin Anime An OVA, Shishio Rises From Hell
In what has got to be the most disappointing 15th anniversary celebration yet, the Rurouni Kenshin franchise, once thought to receive another spectacular TV anime adaptation, will only get a pitifully measly 2 part original video animation (OVA), inciting moans and groans from once eager fans now turned bitter rioters.

Portfolio: MegaHouse Himura Kenshin Battousai Ver.
“Rurouni Kenshin” is one of my all-time favorite anime. Even if it’s been a long 15 years ago since Nobuhiro Watsuki created what is possibly the greatest Tokugawa-Meiji Era manga story ever told, and despite the many other anime I’ve watched since then, “Rurouni Kenshin” never fails to excite the fan in me. Revoltech Kenshin Pre-Orders Up, Looks Like Derpy Samurai Jack
In commemoration of Rurouni Kenshin’s 15 year anniversary, Kaiyodo will be including the timeless character, Himura Kenshin, into their now laughable source of embarrassment, the Revoltech line. Continue reading
Onii-chan no Loooooot-oh!
I spent the whole day today helping out mai waifu in her booth at the Kpop and Culture Fest 2011 at SM Megamall without any expectations of additional loot aside from my MegaHouse Kenshin (goes giddy fanboy mode) which I ordered from AmiAmi through her. However, that all changed when we passed by a certain comic shop. Continue reading
WF Summer 2011: MegaHouse
Being under the Bandai brand, MegaHouse has the luxury of making some of the most recognizable characters in the otakusphere. As such, it’s no surprise that they’ve been quite successful in populating their figure resume with characters that can make a wide range of fans scream with primal, unbridled joy, including me. Continue reading
