Hello everyone, iLikeLolis here reporting for duty. This is my very short and first blog entry featuring Nendoroid Touwa Erio. She is my favorite character right now and maybe forever so expect reviews from me about her every figure :D Ok, here is a short background of the character. One day, she mysteriously disappeared for six months, with no memory of what happened during that time. At the same time, she began having an extreme fascination with aliens, believing herself to be an alien investigator monitoring humans. Following an incident where she broke her leg whilst trying to fly on her bike, she constantly wraps herself inside a futon.
Now that’s done let’s do the review!(Sorry for the crappy pics, the lights were busted and I didn’t purchase a new lamp yet. Please bear with it XD) Continue reading →
Towa Erio from “Dempa Onna to Seishun Otoko” is one of the popular characters that figure companies have recently taken interest in making. A few weeks ago, we featured FREEing’s offering, which for a lack of a better word, looks like a second-rate sale bin destined piece. The latest scans from Japan’s highly respected hobby magazine, Hobby Japan, have just come out and as usual, oodles of new figures to look forward to are once again in the spotlight. FREEing is a company that works closely with Good Smile Company, with GSC being their distributor, and therefore their products should be of the same quality, right? Sadly, that does not hold true and this sordid fact is never more true than in FREEing’s Towa Erio of the anime “Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.” Continue reading →
Last Wonder Festival Summer 2011, it was revealed that Kotobukiya, maker of unspectacular but totally acceptable figures, would be releasing a scale figure of Towa Erio, from the popular anime, “Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.” However, it looks like Alphamax beat them to the punch by opening up pre-orders for their own Erio just now. The October 2011 issue of hobby-institution and soothsayer of otaku poverty, Hobby Japan, reveals upcoming figures to watch out for in the coming months and as always a certain Madoka never fails to make what is now a necessary appearance, along with her Newtonian demon kitty, QB. Kotobukiya has always been something of a “tweener” for me; a company that doesn’t exactly excel but delivers some solid pieces. This WF is no less different as they have some interesting figures, but none that borders on the level of masterpieces. Continue reading →
