GSC Rin Tohsaka and Saber Alter Re-release Makes Collectors Go Into Life Support

Two of the most beautiful figures Good Smile Company has ever made will be re-released in line with the recent broadcast of this year’s blockbuster anime offering, “Fate/Zero.” Both hailing from the “Fate” franchise, GSC’s Rin Tohsaka -UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS- and Saber Alter -Iron Hammer of Vortigern- are among the best figures ever created and with good reason. Great sculpting, impeccable painting and great attention to detail ooze out from both figures, clearly a sign that GSC did not skimp out on the production budget for both. Rin’s pose is hailed from the movie poster of the highly successful “Fate/stay night UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS” movie and features her surrounded by numerous swords, each of which given as much care and craftsmanship as Rin herself, who by the way looks stunning.

Not a slouch either, Saber Alter is just as impressive as Rin, especially when displayed holding that huge, sweeping Vortigern effect part. More than the eye-catching weapon though, Saber Alter herself looks to be just as mouthwatering as her signature red veins are intricately painted into her sinister armor. Like the previous Saber figures, she also comes with a bevy of accessories, such as her visor and another sword, albeit not as visually stimulating as Vortigern.

Both figures are 1/7 scaled, but the similarities end there. Rin comes out next month for a premium price of 8800 yen. Saber Alter, on the other hand, comes out in December for an even more expensive 9800 yen. Yet, despite the heavy price, I’m sure anyone who manages to snag both of these beauties will be very much satisfied.
